Sebastian Rivera is a music producer, composer from Carolina, Puerto Rico, currently based in Los Angeles, California. The self taught producer has worked with numerous latin acts, including Jeimy Osorio and Puerto Rican duo Cometta, having executive produced the latter’s debut album “Vol. 1.”— which received critical acclaim and generated millions of streams across platforms. In 2020 he scored his first three film projects: Sponge, Mr.Sleep and Hunter, all in collaboration with Director Val Vega. He’s a recipient of the 2022 Rising Artist’s Foundation grant “Overtones” in which he received mentorship and trained under world renowned composer and musician Nicolas Jaar. The program saw him taking workshops and panels from other artists and business executives, including: Moses Sumney, Nosaj Thing and producer Alex Goose, among others. He is currently working on his solo venture as a musician, for which the first releases were released under Jaar’s record label, Other People. He was subsequently featured in Flaunt Magazine for his collaboration with rapper BRZ and producer Umbra Abra titled “Broken Phone.” In 2023 he scored Director Val Vega’s latest short film Melao, which saw Rivera tackle his biggest film project to date— he also served as an associate producer for the project. In the same year he worked under composer Alain Emile, to provide additional music for the short film “Mara Has Three Jobs In San Juan Puerto Rico” which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and screened before showings of DC’s summer blockbuster Blue Beetle and Warner Brother’s feature Barbie.
